In the last lesson, we learned how to write and read Katakana. Now, let’s practice using them with actual words! In this video, I will introduce 10 commonly used drinks written in Katakana. After watching this, you’ll be able to order drinks at a cafe in Japan ☕.

💡 Learning Points / 学習（がくしゅう）のポイント
Please listen carefully to Ako-sensei’s pronunciation. For example, “Coffee” is written as “コーヒー” in Katakana. However, the Japanese pronunciation is quite different from the English one, isn’t it?
Ako先生（せんせい）の 発音（はつおん）を よく聞（き）いてください。例（たとえ）ば、「コーヒー」は 英語（えいご）の coffeeを カタカナにして 表（あらわ）しています。でも、英語（えいご）の発音（はつおん）と 日本語（にほんご）の発音（はつおん）は 違（ちが）いますよね？
The phrase “… onegaishimasu” (Please give me …), which we practice at the end of the video, is very useful. You can use it not only in restaurants and cafes but also in many other situations. Please practice it repeatedly and memorize it!
動画（どうが）の 最後（さいご）で練習（れんしゅう）する 「～おねがいします」は、とても便利（べんり）なフレーズです。レストランや カフェ以外（いがい）の 場所（ばしょ）でも 使（つか）えます。繰（く）り返（かえ）し練習（れんしゅう）して 覚（おぼ）えてくださいね！
