💡 How to Study

  1. Basic Meaning and Readings
First, check the basic meaning of each Kanji.

  2. Practice with Examples
Listen to the example words using the Kanji and say them aloud. Some Kanji have different readings depending on the word. Let’s practice pronunciation carefully!

✨ Extra Learning Tip

How to read “人”

The Kanji “” has several different readings. Let’s check the words from the video.

  • (ひと / hito) = A person
  • 日本人 (にほんじん / Nihon-jin) = Japanese person

When you talk about nationality, the pattern is: [ Country Name ] + 人 (jin). In this case, “” is read as “jin.” It is NOT read as “hito.” Please be careful!

Examples:

  • Japanese person (日本人):
OK ✅ にほんじん (Nihon jin) / NOT ❌ にほんひと (Nihon hito)
  • Indian person (インド人):
OK ✅ インドじん (Indo jin) / NOT ❌ インドひと (Indo hito)

🌸 Message from Teacher Ako

Great job on your Kanji study! Now you can write about your family in Kanji. ✨ You also learned how to say your nationality, so please use it in your self-introduction!
For practice, please write your nationality in the YouTube comments! Is it difficult to type in Japanese? You can write in Romaji (alphabets). Don’t worry about making mistakes! I will check your comments. 😊 Let’s keep practicing together🌸
