Just like previous videos, you’ll find 30 questions ranging from Level 1 to Level 3. This time, it included more long words and contracted sounds (拗音: combination sounds like kya, ryo, chu) than in Vol. 01 and Vol. 02.

Did you notice the long sound of the pronunciation in the word けいさつ (keisatsu) in this quiz?

While it is spelled “keisatsu” in Romaji, native speakers actually pronounce the “ei” sound as a long “e” sound, so it sounds like “keesatsu”.

Similarly, a word like りょこう (ryokou) (travel) is spelled with “ou”, but pronounced as a long “o” sound, so it sounds like “ryokoo”.

Try listening to my voice in the video again and practice repeating after me with these natural long vowel sounds!😃
